An #ownvoices Mother-Daughter Team

Nancy and Maria Oglesby are a mother-daughter team working from opposite ends of the country. They started Move as a way to connect across the distance, and it has been such a fun collaborative project, one of many they hope to achieve together.

Maria lived in California when Move was written (she has since relocated back to NC) and works as a freelance illustrator and art teacher. She writes YA Fantasy novels and graphic novels, but was happy to switch gears when the project at hand was one so close to her family and to her heart.

Nancy lives in North Carolina, just a short drive away from the house she moved to when she was a girl during the events of Move. She works as a medical writer and writes contemporary adult and fantasy middle grade novels, but was excited to create something based on her own experience as an adopted kid and collaborate with her daughter.
